Political parties have their own edges against each other. Some will say it’s influence or power, but as for College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) PAMANA, breaking the barrier of stereotyping is what makes their line-up stronger.
Running for the president and vice president positions respectively, Monica Manguera and Conrado Suarez stated that the diversity among their candidates is their leverage against their opponents.
Suarez pointed out that CITHM PAMANA have broken the stereotypical pattern of choosing candidates. Meanwhile, Manguera explained that the diversity can be found from their candidates’ varied courses.
She stated that they “have representatives from all courses naman and, so with that, siguro yung mga ideas namin, we can take it as an advantage para magkaroon ng more efficient, more effective student government para ma-achieve rin yung one goal natin which is to serve the student body.”
Furthermore, they have presented their plans for the college. Some of their goals include the collection of plastic bottles to turn into arm chairs and then donate to public schools; another one is to add an additional facility to cater for the needs of Tourism students.
Since CITHM is the largest department in LPU Manila which offers numerous courses, they mentioned that to hear and address all grievances and/or suggestions from their students, they have included in their platform a specific program to help CITHM students voice out their concerns.
Also, disseminating information through online platforms and physical booth will be done. According to Suarez, since they will make online platforms available for this plan, using papers will not be necessary anymore. Hence, they believe that their projects will help with the university’s campaign to protect the environment.
